Remote Book Review – Work Together Anywhere

“Hello everyone let’s catch up on call at 3 today! No No, it’s not for you!” This is what I usually say to my team whenever I have to take a call. Hi, I’m a writer and have been working remotely for almost four years. I’ve been managing my virtual team with utmost zest and ardour, avoiding all the procrastination.
Being a writer, I have this immense fondness for reading books. So, the other day, I found this amazing book online – Work Together Anywhere written well by these brilliant Authors – Lisette Sutherland, Kirsten Janene-Nelson, Jurgen Appelo
Lisette Sutherland is a public speaker, workshop leader, author, entrepreneur, and remote-working champion. She is the director of Collaboration Superpowers, a company that helps people work together from anywhere through online and in-person workshops.
Kirsten Janene-Nelson is a multi-talented professional with 25+ years’ experience in book publishing. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Literature from Goldsmith College of the University of London.
Jurgen Appelo is the Founder and CEO of Agility Scales. He is a writer, speaker, trainer, entrepreneur, illustrator, manager, blogger, reader, dreamer, leader, freethinker, and creative networker. As a serial founder, successful entrepreneur, author and speaker, Jurgen is pioneering management to help creative organizations survive and thrive in the 21st century.
Since I’ve been working remotely with a virtual team, I wanted to get potential knowledge about how I can enhance the remote operations in my team. The remote book has undoubtedly given me an immense amount of knowledge that I was looking for.
The book was actually helpful for me and I found it an amazing guide on how teams can effectively work together, regardless of location.
My takeaway from the book is that it has the potential to change the perspective of the ones who think that telecommuting is a novelty in today’s modern global economy as many organizations are embracing the game-changing perks of allowing employees to work outside the office.
No wonder, the results are stupendous as everyone today wants flexibility in terms of everything, nobody wants to get bound by the 9-to-5 loop. Exposure with work is one great thing that not only provides you a lifestyle change but also broadens your vision.
The book comprises powerful advice garnered from the experts’ experiences, extensive research, and interviews with workers and managers/owners around the world. It emerges as a complete blueprint for optimizing team success, as it includes –
  • assessing and developing an individual’s team-focused capacity
  • establishing a remote-ready office
  • crafting team agreements
  • running effective online meetings
  • facilitating positive communication practices
Written with so much dedication, the book showcases the authors’ experiences and tenacity of spreading the knowledge around. Well, if you don’t wanna spend hours reading it, I’d already given you a glimpse of what’s there in the book and I hope you find this piece of writing helpful.
Well, this was my takeaway from this remote book and you can let me yours in the comments below. Also, we can take you into the insights of the concept if you subscribe to our newsletters where you can learn more about the concept and become a Remote Work expert today!
